Outback: A taste of America... or Australia?
Well, after another failed attempt at ordering pizza, we finally made our way to Outback.. A taste of home...
Emily here:
Well, tensions with the teachers have lightened up a bit and the work situation is a-okay....for now. This Tuesday we have "open class" for our first grade class. This is when parents can come sit in a class to see how teachers are doing. The teachers are FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!!! They have been talking about this day since we first arrived and now that the time is near it is the only topic of conversation they choose to share with us. I'm teaching about food and Jason is teaching about jobs. All the other teachers decided to do food after I told them that was my lesson. They have tons of resources that I don't know how to get my hands on and they won't clearly tell me, so my lesson is not going to be as flashy, but oh well.
One teacher told me a mother of one of her first graders is an English teacher as well. My co-worker had me come up with all the sentence she will say in the lesson, so that she will be grammatically correct. I was dumbfounded at her lack of ability to come up with a proper sentence. I would be nervous if I was her too.
Jason and I are about to go work on a video surprise special, but for now you can enjoy this one. This is a video of us trying to order pizza. Enjoy!
